POSITION SUMMARYThe Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments to patients in the hospital and outpatient settings, working under the direction of a physical therapist. The PTA on assigned patients observes records and reports to the PT any changes in the patient's functional and medical conditions. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures and skills check lists.
