GLO Resources is hiring an experienced and detail oriented Quality Control Department Manager to assess the quality control functions for heavy civil construction projects located in Slaughter, LA, and surrounding areas. The pay rate depends on experience between $110k-$130k , potentially higher for the right candidate. The schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional overtime as needed.
Quality Control Summary: The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices, quality management systems, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction work meets or exceeds client specifications, industry standards, and company policies to maintain our high level of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the quality control program for all construction projects.
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety regulations.
- Lead a team of quality control inspectors and technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address any quality issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections and audits to monitor adherence to quality standards.
- Review and approve project documentation, including material submittals, inspection reports, and test results.
- Manage corrective and preventive action processes, addressing non-conformance issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding quality performance and project progress.
- Prepare and present regular reports on quality metrics, trends, and improvement plans to senior management.
- Ensure that all quality-related activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality control management within the construction industry, with a focus on heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ACI, ASTM, and DOT regulations.
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and construction inspection methods.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with construction management software.
