GLO Resources is currently hiring for a shipyard laborer to work at a busy marine facility in Belle Chase, LA with occasional travel to the Laplace, LA location. This is a full-time, day shift position that works approximately 8-10 hours a day. Pay is between $17 per hour.
Job Description
Maintain and ensure barges are in proper clean and working conditions by making any necessary repairs, patches, and inspections. Responsible for making proper repairs and communicating the scope of repair work to the barge maintenance team.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for the understanding and implementation of proper temporary and permanent repair techniques to barges including fiberglass repair and barge rigging.
- Perform evaluations and preventative maintenance to barge equipment.
- Performs various barge inspections to increase barge reliability through boarding vessels and walking on barges.
- Must be able to work weekends and hours needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- MUST HAVE 1-2 years' experience in barge repair/shipyard.
Physical Requirements
- Bending, lifting over 50lbs., working in inclement hours, standing, working on and around the river.
