Glo is currently looking to hire an experienced Welding Production Manager to work locally within Bay Springs, Ms.

The rate of pay is depending on experience between $ 75k-$ 85k.

The schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional overtime depending on production needs.

Position Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Completing HPS Program Training (production program)
  • Abiding by Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Planning and scheduling departmental workload based on production schedule
  • Utilizing specific mainframe reports daily/weekly to assist in production scheduling (e.g. – CAP300, CAP220, ORE201, etc.)
  • Ensuring that each operator has at least three (3) work orders at his/her work station at all times
  • Communicating anticipated departures from the production schedule with the Production Manager and/or affected fellow managers
  • Scheduling workload for the following shift (if applicable)
  • Ensuring shop floor orders are received in the department, visually inspected, and staged in designated locations until needed
  • Ensuring that completed shop floor orders within the department are moved to the next staging area by close of business daily
  • Ensuring that all unused excess parts are properly identified (with part number and quantity) and moved to the warehouse staging area daily
  • Tracking departmental efficiencies vs. standards on a monthly basis (e.g. – labor reporting %, production %, setup %, reject rate, etc.)
  • Submitting maintenance work requests to the Maintenance Manager immediately of machine, equipment, or facility failure.
  • Ensuring that preventative maintenance is performed by department members
  • Ensuring that preventative maintenance checklists are completed without fail
  • Supporting the New Hire Orientation process and the New Employee Training Program
  • Providing leadership and support to department/plant members
  • Achieving production goals
  • Meeting company’s and customers’ quality standards
  • Promoting Continuous Improvement through employee involvement
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance
  • Reporting and documenting absenteeism and missed work time on a daily basis (e.g.– time-off form, vacation request, etc.)
  • Ensuring the proper completion of the department’s labor reporting daily
  • Completing department members’ performance reviews on time
  • Completing departmental reports on a timely basis
  • Conducting weekly departmental meetings to discuss various issues (e.g. – safety, production goals, forecasted workload, Continuous Improvement/Lean concepts, weekly Line Reports, etc.)
  • Ensuring that the department does not exceed the prescribed non-production supplies budget
  • Performing Exit Interviews with all terminated department members

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Welding Division Group Leader
  • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience within a manufacturing/fabrication setting.
  • Previous experience with managing shop floor production of welding
  • Background in managing employees, training, auditing, maintaining budget, lean manufacturing, etc.
  • Ability to participate and strategize with the creation and implementation of production processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Programs such as Excel, Word, Email, etc.
  • Able to read blueprints & experience working with weld gages, steel rules, tape measure, calipers, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
