We are currently seeking skilled Shipfitters for a potential 6-month project in Kittery, Maine. This opportunity involves hands-on work aboard 688 and 774 class submarines, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.

**This position is in Kittery, Maine paying 24-38/hr DOE plus Weekly Per Diem**

**This is a 6-month temporary contract with an anticipated start date of 3/2/2025**

What You'll Be Doing:

• Ripping out, altering, repairing, and installing the ship's structure (frame structure, metal deck plating and grating, hull fittings such as davits and fairleads, chocks, scuttles, sockets, and deck rails)
• Templating, laying out, and fabricating structures and fittings including bulkheads, equipment foundations, hangers, ladders, stanchions, brows, accommodation ladders, and guards.
• Removing and installing corrosion-prevention plates (Zinc)
• Performing the following operations: punch, drill, ream, tap, and template cutting.
• Fit-up and make ready for welding, including chipping, nibbling, beveling, hand-grinding and cleaning of surfaces to be welded.
• Performing excavation of pits or defects in ship's structure, including pressure hull and frames.
• Performing post weld cleaning of ship's structural repair areas.
• Removing and reinstalling tank access covers in support of other work.

Qualifications:

• 2 years naval or commercial ship repair experience
• Skilled in removing, altering, repairing, and installing ship structures
• Proficient in manufacturing templates, laying out and fabricating structures and fittings (bulkheads, equipment foundations, hangers, ladders, stanchions)
• Experienced in fit-up and prep for welding, to include chipping, beveling, hand-grinding, and cleaning surfaces
• Capable of performing post-weld clean-up of ship's structural repair areas and removal/reinstall of tank access covers in support of other work.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• US Citizenship and at least an Active/Interim CONFIDENTIAL Security Clearance required
