Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Accounting Manager located in Longwood, FL reporting directly to the CFO. The Accounting Manager will oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage journal entries and fixed assets, and have responsibility for finance-related tasks. They will perform detailed financial analysis and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Other day-to-day tasks include maintaining compliance with financial regulations and preparing reports for senior management.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
· Invoice Management: Oversee the creation, distribution, and tracking of invoices to clients and vendors, ensuring timely and accurate billing and payment.
· Budget Tracking: Track and report on project budgets, providing monthly reports to leadership to ensure projects stay within budget. Provide recommendations and insights for cost control when necessary.
· Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and standards.
· Timesheet Oversight: Review employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws.
· Payroll Management: Administer the company's payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. This includes calculating wages, processing payroll taxes, and maintaining payroll records. Manage personnel administrative information for record keeping. This also includes new employee onboarding, new hire forms and E-Verify verification.
· Health Insurance Administration: Administer health insurance plans for employees, including enrollment, ensuring deductions are properly recorded and reconciling monthly invoice and preparing annual forms.
· 401(k) Administration: Administer changes to employee 401(k) plans, ensuring timely updates and accurate deductions, and working with the benefits provider as necessary.
· Reimbursement Processing: Produce and manage checks to reimburse employees and vendors for expenses, ensuring all reimbursements are compliant with company policies.
· Audit Support: Coordinate and provide support during internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
· Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
· CPA or CMA certification preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.
· Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong Analytical Skills for detailed financial analysis
· Experience with payroll systems and 401(k) plan administration.
· Knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with project management and budget tracking.
