Job Description:
Infinity Transportation Equipment Leasing (“ITEL”) is a management arm for Global Atlantic Financial Group and KKR with a current portfolio value of $2B. ITEL specializes in leasing rail transportation equipment to all major Class I railroads and large commodity companies. We are looking for a proactive and motivated Paralegal. Reporting directly to our in-house counsel and interacting with our business team as well as with external counterparties and resources, you will support the legal needs of the Company, focusing primarily on the leasing, purchasing, and selling of railroad cars and related assets.
Key Responsibilities Under In-House Counsel Supervision:
- Draft, review, interpret, summarize, and organize railcar equipment leases and other contracts, including purchase/sale agreements, vendor/supplier agreements, NDAs, and others.
- Conduct due diligence and lease analysis to support asset purchases and other business and legal needs.
- Assist with the Company’s other legal agreements and legal correspondence related to its railcar leasing business.
- Coordinate with internal personnel and external parties on legal projects and documentation.
- Maintain, develop, and organize legal files, tracking tables, and databases.
- Assist with pre-, post-, and at-closing activities supporting the Company’s legal transactions.
- Collaborate with business team members where needed to accomplish legal projects.
- Provide support in counterparty breach and dispute situations.
- Provide support for business entity formation and governance.
Qualifications:
- Five years of experience as a transactional paralegal with a focus on contracts and closings.
- Excellent communication skills. Confident, efficient, careful, and organized with written and spoken work-product.
- Very strong attention to detail, organization, proofreading, and formatting.
- Deep comfort with advancing multiple large and small projects on overlapping tracks with fluctuating prioritization and deadlines.
- Diligent, self-starting, and self-managing worker who is equally able to work independently and within teams, and to adapt to guidance and instruction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, Outlook), DocuSign, Adobe, and legal software. Familiarity with SharePoint and PowerPoint are a plus. Awareness of and head-start with AI is a plus.
- Skill at developing and maintaining precedent forms, checklists, tracking sheets, and other resource materials.
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree highly preferred, and certification preferred.
Experience in the transportation industry is a plus, and rail experience is a very strong plus. Neither is required if you are excited and energetic about learning a fascinating new specialty.
