POSITION SUMMARY
The Asset Allocation Team defines and implements the strategy for the firm’s investment portfolio. Working closely with other teams in the New York Investment Office, Asset Allocation leads the management of Global Atlantic’s $150 billion general account. A subgroup of the team, Portfolio Management, is responsible for ongoing management of the $150 billion assets backing existing policies and supports the competitive acquisition of new business onto the balance sheet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the construction of pricing portfolios for new and prospective business channels.
- Assess new investment strategies’ impact on asset-liability management and underlying profitability for Global Atlantic.
- Perform analysis on in-force investment portfolios and suggest trades to improve asset-liability alignment.
- Lead portfolio execution and liquidity management across asset classes and support various initiatives with Finance and Risk.
- Coordinate with Institutional Markets in institutionalizing investment compliance reporting frameworks for reinsurance client servicing.
- Prepare investment-related materials for senior leadership, board members, regulators, and potential investors.
- Liaise with portfolio managers and other business teams on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- outstanding academic record and 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in financial markets, portfolio construction, and asset management.
- Strong background in both Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with programming languages (Python / SQL) a plus.
- Familiarity with quantitative concepts and fixed income math.
- Energetic, inquisitive, and an initiative to take on high impact projects that cover new ground for the team and the company.
- Highly professional and team oriented; organized with acute attention to detail.
- Strong balance of technical and communication skills.
- Progress towards CFA designation a plus.
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements a plus.
