Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chimney Sweep to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning chimneys, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with various tools and materials. The Chimney Sweep will also provide excellent customer service while educating clients on proper chimney maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Must be comfortable with ladders and working at elevation and roof top
- Perform thorough cleaning of chimneys, flues, and vents to remove soot, debris, and blockages.
- Inspect chimneys for structural integrity and identify any necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to carry out cleaning and inspection tasks.
- Provide recommendations for repairs or improvements based on inspections.
- Assist in minor masonry work related to chimney repairs.
- Educate clients on proper chimney usage and maintenance practices.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
- Ensure all work areas are left clean and organized after each job.
Requirements
- Experience with hand tools and basic construction techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with basic construction for residential and commercial spaces .
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients professionally.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
