Contract position for a long-term Network Ops project with a Global Bank in NYC
Job Description: Network Ops:
- Strong network operations engineer
- Support network stability on a Cisco ACI and legacy (IOS, CAT OS, Nexus) environment
- Handle Sizing, availability and HA for Cisco ACI, Cisco legacy Routers, and Switches
- Manage and perform emergency (urgent, necessary) work (troubleshooting, urgent job request) even after hours or weekends
- Manage technology refresh for End-of-Life equipment
- Prepare reports for management
- Implement appropriate changes, updates, and upgrades in response to vulnerabilities and incursions
- Support the process owner(s) for Network Security (NS), Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
- Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures related to the above processes.
- Assist in developing strategies and solutions for remediating audit issues, and ensure remediation activities are tracked and completed by due dates
- Organize network incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Assure that run books and documentation (including network diagrams) are current and correct
- Support resiliency and disaster recovery by participating in DR planning and drills.
- Ensure a secure enterprise network environment through the enforcement of Network Access Controls (NAC), and logging and monitoring for network devices through the SIEM process
- Work with network monitoring and opportunity to cross-train with security tools
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree. Experience: 6-8 years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge in networking and protocols - BGP, OSPF, NAT, L2L VPN (IPSec), and Remote Access (Global Protect)
- Tools: Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco ACS, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, Cisco Wireless environment, F5 Load Balancers
- Preferred certifications: CCNA/CCNP
- Must be versatile, able to work effectively, independently, or as part of a team on multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, and other Office products
- Strong communication skills both verbal and writing, with attention to detail.
