Job Description
Title: Full Stack Java Engineer / IMI
We are looking for a full-stack developer with 5 years of experience for a high-visibility, fast-paced project for a child support technology program for a Washington DC area customer. The candidate will be responsible for the understanding the requirements, design, development, and unit testing of java technology-based applications in an Agile development environment. The java-based application architectures include web applications, webservices, batch applications, and database operations. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction. Candidate must be familiar with Agile Software Development methodologies. Candidate must translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and optimize end-to-end enterprise-grade applications.
• Build high-performance APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA).
• Develop dynamic and responsive front-end applications using React.js or Angular.
• Architect and maintain robust database solutions (SQL & NoSQL) with deep expertise in query optimization and performance tuning.
• Implement scalable and secure system architectures, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Lead and participate in code reviews, design discussions, and system architecture decisions.
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
• Work with DevOps teams to deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 5 years of experience as a Full Stack Java Developer.
• Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA).
• Deep knowledge of front-end development using React.js or Angular.
• Strong database expertise, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience in query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and database performance tuning.
• Expertise in RESTful API & Microservices development.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in DevOps tools: CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of authentication/security standards: OAuth2, JWT, SSL, encryption.
• Excellent understanding of scalability, distributed systems, and system architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills, debugging expertise, and ability to optimize code.
