Principal
Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Principal oversees the instruction and culture of the school building. The
Principal is responsible for both sustaining and improving a culture of high academic excellence.
The Principal will directly supervise the Assistant Principal, the Coach / IB Coordinator, the Dean,
the School Counselor and selected teachers.
Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
- Ensures that all students on the campus exhibit strong achievement gains
- Conducts regular classroom visits in coordination with the Assistant Principal and other
school-based leader, and provides targeted feedback and follow-up for teachers and staff
based on observations
tuned to staff needs to maximize student learning gains and provide targeted resources and
support to all teachers
Program
implement granular and school-wide changes to assure progress towards goals
including but not limited to report card distribution, parent-teacher conferences, family
celebrations, appropriate supervision at school events, and other initiatives
address the learning needs of the school’s special education, ELL, economically
disadvantaged and other populations that require additional supports
Operations & Compliance
and dismissals that upholds the school culture
CAO and other stakeholders as required
School Culture and Community
environment that is courteous, ethical, supportive, appreciative, and transparent
relentlessly to improve upon weaknesses, being open to feedback, able to take responsibility
for failure, showing a balance in confidence vs. humility and behaving professionally
framework. Work with staff, students and parents to ensure universal understanding of
expectations
and promotes student achievement and global citizenship
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the CAO
