What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Registered Nurse/LPN position at Global Concepts Charter School?
JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a caring, compassionate and experienced school nurse that loves taking care of children and prioritizes their health and well-being over anything else. Responsible for educating our students on any health issues and handle any medical complaints within the school by performing a routine screening.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute the following tasks satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
TASKS:
- Ensure that students have all their medical records up to date
- Orientate students on health care and safety issues like hand washing, germs, etc.
- Screen students who are complaining of a specific ailment
- Keep files on each of the student's health and medical history
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing and walking for extended periods of times
- Sitting down while entering data to the computer or charting
- Bending, twisting, pushing and pulling are all actions that are performed daily
- Regular lifting of medical supplies or equipment
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing
- License issued by the State of NY to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Able to establish relationships with the students and become familiar with them
