Server Job Summary:
As a server, you truly care about providing a memorable, hospitable experience. The successful characteristics of a server is someone who is welcoming, accommodating and able to educate our patrons and guide their experience to create lasting memories. Great servers have the desire to expand their knowledge of our offerings and be creative with your recommendations, using suggestive selling where appropriate.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with management, bussers, cooks and other staff. Also youll need to work quickly, love being part of a team and have the capability to solve problems in stride.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests.
- Present menu and answer questions relating to specials and menu changes
- Take food & beverage orders and make recommendations
- Manage tables while paying close attention to cleanliness and order
- Issue bills and accept payment
- Listen to complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
- Make all our guests feel comfortable and that youll personally take care of them.
- Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
- Enter order in our point-of-sale system.
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
- Perform side work at the start and end of shift as required.
- Maintain clean service areas.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service.
- Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Be ready and willing to assist hostess or bussers/utility with clearing and resetting tables.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
