Cartographer - Mid

Global Dimensions is currently seeking a Mid level Cartographer for a position at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

The Cartographer will apply expertise in cartographic finishing and feature extraction, manage geospatial data using tools like ESRI ArcGIS, Socet-Set, and FME, and ensure data quality through established control processes. They will prepare and present intelligence displays, reports, and briefings, and work efficiently in high-pressure environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to analyze and interpret geospatial data to support operations are essential.

Requirements

• Have a current TS/SCI security clearance
• Five (5) years of demonstrated relevant experience required
• Experience in cartographic finishing and feature extraction processes
• Familiarity with Controlled Image Base (CIB1), Topographic Line Maps (TLMs), Multi-national Geospatial Co-production Program (MGCP) products, MGCP Derived Graphics (MDG), Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), and National Technical Means (NTM) in the context of boundary recovery, including data retrieval and storage processes.
• Knowledge of quality control workflows, management of geospatial database content, feature data extraction, and processes for attributing data.
• Proven experience in applying cartographic finishing techniques.
• Proficient in using data conversion tools such as FME, ESRI extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools, or similar software extensions.
• Proven experience with map finishing automation tools, including Cartographic Web Services (CWS), Digital Cartographic Studio (DCS), and Enterprise Product on Demand Services (ePODS).
• Familiarity with data quality control tools, including Geospatial Analysis Inspection Tool (GAIT), ArcGIS Data ReViewer, or other similar geospatial data inspection software
• Experience in preparing, maintaining, and delivering intelligence displays, reports, and briefings, including the creation of visual aids (graphs, charts, etc.), as well as drafting, editing, and proofreading documents for publication
• Proficient with widely used cartographic analysis and feature extraction software suites such as ESRI ArcGIS, Socet-Set, Remote View, or similar ELT software
• Skilled in performing geo-locational mensuration tasks, extracting coordinates, and determining positional relationships from digital database systems
• Experience in maintaining and utilizing geospatial databases
• Capable of compiling, segregating, evaluating, researching, interpreting, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence information to support operational objectives
• Knowledge of intelligence organizations, systems, collection and reporting systems, intelligence information sources, and techniques for identifying, collating, evaluating, and analyzing information
• Familiarity with the geographical and cultural aspects of foreign countries
• Experience integrating digital cartography, computer technology, GIS, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats
• Understanding of the geospatial data multi-user enterprise environment
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that often requires multitasking
• Proven oral and written communication skills
