Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mid-level Cartographer to join our team at Global Dimensions. As a dynamic, expanding company with exciting opportunities in language/culture, training/education/instruction, IT, cyber security, and intelligence, we are looking for an expert who can utilize their knowledge in feature extraction and boundary recovery working with geospatial data sources such as CIB1, TLMs, MGCP products, DTED, SRTM, and NTM.
Responsibilities:
- Manage geospatial databases and perform cartographic finishing techniques using tools like FME and ESRI ETL tools.
- Leverage map finishing automation tools such as CWS, DCS, and ePODS.
- Evaluate data quality using tools like GAIT and ArcGIS Data ReViewer.
- Maintain high-quality geospatial products through effective quality control workflows and feature data extraction processes.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a current TS/SCI security clearance.
- A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated relevant experience is required.
- Experience in cartographic finishing and feature extraction processes is necessary.
- Familiarity with controlled image base (CIB1), topographic line maps (TLMs), multi-national geospatial co-production program (MGCP) products, digital terrain elevation data (DTED), shuttle radar topography mission (SRTM), and national technical means (NTM) is essential.
- Knowledge of quality control workflows, management of geospatial database content, feature data extraction, and attributing data processes is required.
- Proficient in using data conversion tools such as FME, ESRI extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools or similar software extensions.
- Proven experience with map finishing automation tools including cartographic web services (CWS), digital cartographic studio (DCS), and enterprise product on demand services (ePODS) is necessary.
- Familiarity with data quality control tools including geospatial analysis inspection tool (GAIT), arcgis data reviewer, or other similar geospatial data inspection software is required.
