What are the responsibilities and job description for the LP/VN (Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse) position at Global Dynamics?
Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the LPN works closely with others as needed in the Acute Care Medical / Surgical areas and Primary Care setting throughout the AVAHCS and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The LPN functions both dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager / designee.
- Contractor nurses may be utilized as needed in the Acute Care Medical / Surgical areas, in ambulatory / outpatient care clinics, and outpatient labs.
- Knowledge and skill are sufficient to prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and / or intravenous medications as approved local facility policies and procedures permit.
- Observation and documentation will include the patient's response to the medication administered and reporting any noted change in the patient's condition to the RN or MD / DO.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact [in an appropriate manner] with patients, family members, professional and [other] supportive personnel [involved in the delivery of] patient care, incorporating acceptable, established customer service standards into practice.Qualifications
- LPN must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Education requirements : required to graduate from a state-approved practical / vocational nursing school. Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in related field is highly preferred. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the applicant completed the program : The Accreditation Page 30 of 79 Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- The minimum requirement for all LPNs assigned to the AVAHCS shall include a current unrestricted LPN license from any state (United States) and a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
- Med / Surg- minimum three years current experience and (must have worked within the last six months) in a medical / surgical unit.
- Long-Term Care / Nursing Home - minimum three years of current experience and (must have worked within the last six months) in a long-term care setting.
- Psychiatric / Mental Health - Minimum three years of current experience (must have worked within the last six months) experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit 1.3.14.10. Position : Primary Care - Minimum three years current experience and (must have worked within the previous six months) in a primary care setting.
- May be required to work with COVID-19-positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID 19
