What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Global Earthwork + Underground?

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate job set up and organization with Project Management team.
- Set up approved subcontracts and purchase orders in Vista and review for accuracy.
- Set up and review approved Change Orders.
- Manage subcontractor compliance with terms and conditions of the contract, including items such as bonds, insurance, waivers, billing accuracy, etc.
- Prepare and submit all required lien waivers for project, subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Initiate the selection of subcontractor payments upon receipt of progress billing funds by verifying with Project Management team.
- Review and maintain accurate Project Cost Report.
- Generate and accurately process monthly General Construction G702/703 requisition billing in a timely manner.
- Investigate any unbilled project costs.
- Maintain financial project files.
- Assist in financial aspects of project close-out.
- Provide project requested information to external parties.
- Coordinate and assist with project specific audits.
- Assist with any additional assignments as needed.
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction Accounting Experience
- Job Costing Experience
- Strong skills in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or 2 years of qualified work experience
- MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
