Position Overview
Our team is currently looking for an Accounting Supervisor for a client in the Oil and Gas industry.
As an Accounting Supervisor, you will work with a team of accountants in assigned US GAAP accounting, including lease accounting, financial statement reporting and analysis, consolidation, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other ad-hoc assignments. You assist with leading the team in month-end closings, reconciliations, and audit processes.
Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- Supervise team of accounting personnel located in Chesapeake, VA and Support Regional Accounting Manager and site BP's
- Manage teams accountability for the completion of key controls and ensure that all deadlines are adhered to
- Support appropriate workload allocation, set-up of an appropriate back-up system within the team including sharing of knowledge and upkeeping of proper process documentations and system access directory
- Provide constructive and meaningful feedback to team members on a regular basis on their individual performance & complete annual performance process as per company requirements
- Constantly support team in their professional development; initiate and oversee a performance improvement plan if necessary
- Provide any required training / development for team, including developing a structured induction for new hires
- Prepare all assigned journal entries and related account reconciliations monthly
- Complete all assigned Blackline tasks and recons
- Prepare and provide monthly financial reports to management
- Complete all other assigned daily, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks
- Assist with any tax or other audits as needed
- Ensures compliance with company policies, US GAAP, SOX and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within companys ethical code of business conduct
- Ensures that all financial data is accurate, complete and submitted in accordance with company timetables
- Where required, ensures that local statutory returns, secretarial matters and other fiduciary matters are efficiently dealt with
Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)
Education and Certifications : Bachelor's degree in an Accounting or Finance field
