Job Description
">- Conduct engine calibration tests on dynos and analyze engine data to optimize performance.
- Develop and test HIL/MIL strategies, including embedded development and pre-calibration.
- Collaborate on powertrain and hybrid system development, focusing on performance analysis.
- Sizing studies and control strategy development.
- Provide trackside support, including track data analysis and on-track assistance for the race team.
Requirements
">- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on internal combustion engines or electrified powertrains.
- Experience with development and testing of powertrains, including test planning, procedure writing, data acquisition, and analysis.
- Knowledge of internal combustion engine physics, combustion, and thermodynamics.
- Understanding of mechanics and components, including embedded strategy development and systems controls.
- Dyno experience using tools such as AVL, PUMA, Concerto, and Indicom.
- Coding/scripting skills in Matlab/Simulink, Python, or VBS (nice to have).
- Familiarity with electrical system basics, including MGU/Control Units/Batteries.
- Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, including time lap simulations.
Working Conditions
">- 100% onsite in Santa Clarita, CA.
- 1-year contract with the possibility of extension or direct hire.
