Position Overview
Our team is currently looking for a Planning/Scheduling Engineer for one of our clients.
Located at the construction site, the Field Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and reporting critical path plans and related schedules for the project construction activities. Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out planning and scheduling construction tasks supporting the management of the project. The Field Planning Engineer is closely involved and facilitates the preparation of the project plan and schedule and must be able to provide an accurate and timely status of the project plan.
Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- An active member of the PC Team collaborating and supporting project-specific strategies and deliverables.
- Participates in establishing initial construction plan by implementing company templates and facilitating interactive planning sessions with key construction team members.
- Prepares drafts of network logic diagrams for segments or the construction phase as applicable.
- Performs forward and backward pass assessments during the preparation of the construction phase schedule and provides critical path analysis highlighting pertinent start and finish dates of milestones and activities.
- Compiles, organizes construction planning information and prepares the related construction schedule versions with different levels of detail and criteria including the, weekly, bi-weekly look ahead and general construction schedule.
- Utilizes Primavera P6 as scheduling and reporting tool.
- Assists with the resource loading process of the applicable construction scopes.
- Reviews short-cycle schedule impacts and prepares CPM project schedule analysis.
- Collects, validates, and integrates schedule and earned value progress information from vendors and contractors.
- Conducts progress audits by routine project walkthroughs.
- Prepares different tabular and graphical construction schedule timeline and resources reports as required.
- Assists in developing alternatives to accommodate changes and priorities.
- Attends construction meetings and participates by providing the applicable reports.
- Facilitates meetings with key construction project team members, vendors, and contractors to address and update the construction schedule status and forecast.
- Assists the home office staff with the coordination, monitoring, reporting and oversight of the field activities.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)
- Basic understanding of operating plant environment
- Understands quality standards
- EPC Planning/Scheduling, heavy industrial construction experience in the Oil & Gas, Industrial Gases, or Petrochemical industries
