Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Safety Manager to lead our safety department and oversee all risk management and compliance initiatives across the company. This leadership position is responsible for the safety vision, strategic planning, team development, and implementation of scalable safety solutions aligned with DOT and FMCSA requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the company’s safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Set and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for the safety department.
- Serve as the company’s primary liaison with regulatory agencies, including FMCSA and DOT.
- Oversee CSA score performance, DataQ submissions, and safety audits.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead strategic planning to reduce accident rates.
- Supervise and mentor Safety Managers and Coordinators across multiple locations.
- Review and advise on contract safety terms with major clients and vendors.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve fleet safety and reduce liability exposure.
- Collaborate with legal and insurance teams on claims, risk assessments, and litigation support.
Qualifications:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED, 10 years of transportation safety experience, including 7 years in leadership.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation Management, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of FMCSA, DOT regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and leadership capabilities.
