Job Overview:
The Transportation Operations Manager will work on-site at the Hyundai Motor Group Manufacturing Plant in Ellabell, GA and be responsible for all Shuttle activities in inside Consolidate Center (CC) or outside Consolidate Center (OCC). Working hand in hand with Glovis and plant management to manage on-site activities which involve oversight of a shunting/switching / local shuttle service to ensure routes are completed as required to ensure 100% on-time delivery to the assembly line. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Primary:
- Safety is our number 1 priority, and the Shuttle Operations Manager is to lead and develop safety initiatives and ensure the safety of our employees and those around us. This includes partnering with GET’s Safety team to ensure we operate as per our corporate guidelines and develop additional safety guidelines and procedures.
- Monitor all inbound and outbound shipments, including return items from the customer (carts, dollies, returnable racks/containers, etc.)
- Coordinate with plant logistics teams to maintain the smooth flow of goods in and out of the facility and to the customer, ensuring timely delivery of parts to facilitate continual achievement of the customer's build requirements.
- Focus on continual training for our on-site supervisors, specialists, coordinators and drivers. Implement and administer continuous improvement plans. Create internal scorecard/KPIs to measure our success and opportunities for improvement.
- Superior customer relationship management is critical. Ensure all customer needs are met and appropriate follow-up and documentation is provided.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all goods stored in the yard.
- Lead growth of operation to support plant launch curve.
- Continuous development of support team and drivers.
- Ensure Safety compliance of all drivers and equipment.
- Conduct regular safety audits.
- Facilitate safety talks on a daily/weekly/as needed basis.
- Supervise yard/shuttle truck drivers and ensure all team members comply with all safety procedures, including adherence to all yard CTPAT requirements.
Secondary:
- Weekly invoice to Customer
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and coordinate repairs.
- Ensure materials are secure in trailers/containers.
- Assign equipment to drivers.
- Assist when needed to ensure timely delivery of required items to the clients point of use receiving location.
Tertiary:
- Provide training to new hires and coaching to existing employees as needed.
- Ensure yard and facility cleanliness and organization.
Job Qualifications & Requirements:
REQUIRED:
- Bilingual in English and Korean.
- HS Diploma/G.E.D., 7 yrs direct, 5 yrs indirect, 3 yrs Menagerie
PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree, 9 yrs direct, 7 yrs indirect, 5 yrs Menagerie
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and other productivity applications and platforms.
- Experience in a Managerial role in a trailer/container storage yard
- Team player, willing to support activities to drive great customer satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
