The Global Forensic and Justice Center (GFJC) is seeking a Senior Forensic Chemist in the Largo, FL area. This position provides technical expertise in the area of forensic chemistry through activities including but not limited to design and delivery of scientific experiments; analysis and interpretation of data; instrumentation and materials readiness activities; and quality assurance activities. Provides technical content development and instructional delivery. Performs research, testing, and evaluation activities and formal presentation of findings. Provides project coordination activities as assigned.
Qualified individuals will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, toxicology, forensic sciences or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years hands-on experience in forensic analytical chemistry in a laboratory setting required.
- Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) clearance.
- Hands-on experience in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy (RAMAN), Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) and basic colorimetric technology.
