What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horse Identifier position at GLOBAL GAMING LSP LLC?
General Definition:
- Responsible for identifying each horse by means of a tattoo to confirm identity prior to racing.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure the safekeeping of registration certificates for horses stabled or racing on grounds.
- Inspect documents of, or breeding necessary to ensure the proper identification of each horse scheduled to compete at a race meet.
- Examine every starter in the paddock for sex, color, markings, and lip tattoo, or other identification method approved by the appropriate breed registry and the commission for comparison with its registration certificate to verify the horse's identity.
- Supervise the tattooing, branding, or other method of identification approved by the appropriate breed registry and the IHRC for identification of an horse located on the grounds.
- Report to the stewards any horse not properly identified in conformity with TXRC rules.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 years related experience and/or training; or combination.

- Must be knowledgeable of the Rules of Racing.

- Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
- Written communication skills in English may also be required.
Training:
- 1 year work related experience and/or training; or combination.
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC)
