Description
General Definition: Armed Security Officers are responsible for protecting designated people and places, and should report noteworthy incidents to the company as they occur.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow employees.
Gives directions and provides escorts to guests in need.
Provides escorts for employees in cash-handling positions.
Patrols in vehicle company property including parking lots and stable area.
Provides visible deterrent to crime and policy infractions.
May interview persons and investigate breaches in security and breaks in policy.
Provides assistance to law enforcement agencies in a professional manner.
Prepares security incident and accident reports.
Enforces internal security policies and procedures.
Protecting stipulated people and locations from harassment, physical attack, vandalism, and other forms of abusive or unauthorized treatment.
Ensuring that your weapon is well maintained and secure at all times.
Utilizing your weapon in times of extreme attack, when non-violent options have been exhausted.
Attending refresher training in weapons use, if applicable.
Completing and submitting incident reports after noteworthy developments.
Recording the details of each person who visits the facility, if applicable.
Ensuring that security equipment and measures are suitable, and that they remain in excellent working condition at all times.
Implementing new security measures, if required.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or GED. Experience in armed security, military or lawenforcement preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of applicable local and state laws.
Strong customer service orientation.
Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agencypersonnel.
Computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Strong written and oral communication skills required.
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limitedstandardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, orschedule form.
Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings andholidays
Ability to enter a smoke filled environment as needed OR Must be able to work in asmoke filled casino environment
Training and Experience:
Must be able to pass Title 31 Training
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Current CLEET phase 4 of armed license.
- Maintain active Driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functionsMust be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result
Physical Requirements:
Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching:Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Crawling:Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Reaching: Extending hand(s)and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances ormoving from one work site to another.
Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position.
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
