Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow employees.
- Gives directions and provide escorts to guests in need.
- Regularly provides escorts for employees in money-handling positions.
- Patrols the casino and adjacent buildings identifying safety hazards, security breaches, and breaks in company policy.
- Provides assistance to law enforcement agencies in a professional manner.
- Ensures lost and found items are documented in reporting database.
- Fills static posts to ensure age requirements for guests accessing casino.
- May interview persons and investigate breaches in security and breaks in policy.
- Enforces internal security policies and procedures.
- Prepares security incident and accident reports.
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Obtains help by sounding alarms.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures;
- Controls traffic by directing drivers.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
- Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED. Previous security, law enforcement or military experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
- Computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Ability to enter a smoke-filled environment as needed OR Must be able to work in a smoke-filled casino environment
Training and Experience:
- Must be able to pass Title 31 Training
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to complete CLEET phase 1 & 2 after 90 days.
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any
- Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result
Physical Requirements:
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
