Shift: Days, Mon-Friday 5x8-Hour (08:00 – 5:00)

Job Summary:
Medical Professional Billing Coder
Hematology/Oncology Clinic
Medical Billing and ICD 9 & 10 Exp.
Duties
- Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered.
- Utilize ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems to ensure accurate documentation and billing.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or coding.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines related to medical billing and coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices, medical terminology, and billing procedures.
- Assist in the management of medical collections by ensuring timely submission of claims and follow-up on outstanding accounts.
- Support the medical office team by providing insights on coding-related inquiries and issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG systems, and other relevant coding standards.
- Familiarity with medical records management and healthcare systems.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.
