Job Purpose : To perform the following tasks for alcohol and drug analysis instrumentation; to include but not limited to preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, quality inspection, manufacturing, and testing.
Principal Accountabilities :
- Assemble simple parts and components with the use of standard equipment with the guidance of senior staff, management, and use of training aids.
- Records and maintains test data by using the manual or by electronic means in an organized manner. Extract data when required and identifies deviations in the outcomes resulting from equipment malfunction. Data will be documented in a detailed manner to ensure positive communication throughout.
- Provides technical assistance to internal and external technical staff, business partners, and customers either in person or by phone and email. Provide technical assistance regarding equipment functionality, parts identification and orientation, documentation of testing and calibration, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Troubleshoot electronic circuit boards and wiring with the use of standard electronic test equipment to include but not limited to multi-meter, oscilloscope, and product specific test equipment. Be able to describe any faults found during the troubleshooting process and the components needed for the repair.
- Be able to use solder equipment and basic hand tools to build, test, and repair electronic components, devices, and accessories. All actions must be made within the departmental and company Quality Assurance policy.
- Support all budget goals within the department and the company by working effectively and efficiently to maintain current customer accounts and work towards securing future customer accounts.
- Must be literate in English to effectively comprehend, prepare, and articulate data and reports. Must be able to give presentations in front of groups to include but not limited to customers, peers, and management.
- Responsible for performing collateral duties assigned by the Service Manager or other management staff.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Education : Associates Degree in Electronics or technology related fields; equivalent education and work experience or military experience will be evaluated towards this requirement.
Related Experience : Up to two years of experience in instrumentation servicing or equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Military experience will be evaluated towards this requirement.
Special Competencies : Possession of general electronics knowledge to include but not limited to components, circuitry, flow diagrams, schematics.
Work Environment / Conditions :
Lift and carry objects less than 30 pounds. Standing, walking, sitting. Grasping and manipulating objects, manual dexterity to use keyboard, and hand tools.
Near vision to see objects within 20 inches, field of vision and sharp focus. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when needed such as ESD wrist strap, googles, or gloves.
