Smart Start Inc is seeking a skilled and motivated BI/Integration Specialist to join our dynamic team. The BI/Integration Specialist will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions and integrating various systems to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about data integration, analytics, report generation, SQL server administration, and driving business insights through technology.
The BI Developers must gain an in-depth understanding of the underlying data, and proper business uses in order to translate end-user report requirements into robust reporting solutions. Additionally, this role supports the end-user community in the use of business intelligence tools to query databases for report outputs. If you want to be locked in a room and left alone to code for three months, this is not the job for you. The person in this role will not only need to talk to the end-user community, but will want to.
- Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, to provide insights into business performance and trends.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement data integration processes to consolidate and streamline data from disparate sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Develop and maintain data models, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data pipelines to support BI initiatives.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of BI systems and data integration processes, identifying and resolving issues as needed.
- Administer SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support reporting and analysis requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business units, to ensure alignment of BI solutions with organizational goals and objectives.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in BI, data integration, and SQL server administration.
- Provide technical expertise and support to end-users, troubleshooting issues and assisting with data-related inquiries.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data integration, SQL server administration, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in BI tools and technologies, such as Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience with data integration tools and platforms, such as SSIS, Informatica, or Talend.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, relational databases, and SQL query optimization.
- Experience administering SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with internationalization practices, including locale neutral formatting, and externalized string resources.
- Experience working with the MS BI stack in Azure Cloud.
