Summary/Objective
The quality assurance specialist supports the QMS and conducts quality assurance audits assuring company policies and procedures are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consults with management to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Functions as an information source to various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur. Function in conjunction with manager, quality assurance services, on special department projects.
Essential Functions
- Support management to ensure that the ISO 9001 Quality Management System is suitable, adequate and effective.
- Conduct quality audits for ISO 9001 QMS.
- Confirm that audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained.
- Determine overall product quality and distribution by conducting and evaluating various processes and tests.
- Support management in resolving major quality problems at production facilities, warehouses, and otherareas as required.
- Evaluate and take corrective action when necessary with regard to nonconformance or process interruptions.
- Confirm policies, procedures, and work instructions are being reviewed and maintained.
- Identify gaps or improvements in the QMS.
- Consult with management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
- Function as an information source for other departments when critical quality issues arise.
- Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with manager, quality assurance services.
- Responsibility of QMS training and preparing new employees for the quality department.
- Reports to Quality Assurance Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
