What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Industrial Engineering position at Global Industrial Services?

We carry over one million industrial, material handling and business products that are sold through our website, corporate sales people and full color catalogs. We are constantly increasing our product offerings to meet the diverse and changing needs of our customers. Our customers include small to large corporations, institutions, government agencies and consumers across North America.
* Operations liaison to leaders and DC management staff to help identify operations challenges.
* Utilize Inventory Management Best Practices to manage slotting and product issues.
* Assist the Operations Excellence team with the implementation of major initiatives and capital expenditure projects.
* Demonstrate basic knowledge of High Jump Inventory Management modules to perform product lookups, check replenishments and verify inventory lookups
* Provide front-line support of Labor Management in observations and documentation
* Utilize the Warehouse Management System to slot products and establish stocking levels.
* Support Item Master updates utilizing Cubiscan technology
* Support in project development and implementation
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Travel to network DC's on as as-needed basis to support implementations.
* Minimum 1 years' experience working in a warehousing and distribution environment
* Basic skills in Excel and the ability to summarize data
* Demonstrated DC skills to engage in operations needs and solutions
* Knowledge of DC Operations continuous Improvement efforts
* Ability to take lead on low-level projects with assistance
* Good verbal, written and professional skills. Presentation skills for inner department presentations.
* Capable of working within a team with good communication skills, handles peers well
* Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
* Able to bring teams together and work collaboratively
* Basic knowledge of both Warehouse and Labor Management Systems
* Basic to Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel
* Basic level using MS Word and PowerPoint
* Willingness to travel if needed on a limited basis
