Position Overview
A Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to procure high-quality products and materials at the best possible cost. This role requires strong analytical skills, market research capabilities, and supplier relationship management to ensure the company’s procurement strategy aligns with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Identification & Evaluation:
- Research and identify potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Assess and qualify vendors through RFQ (Request for Quotation), RFP (Request for Proposal), and due diligence processes.
- Develop and maintain a robust supplier database.
- Negotiation & Procurement:
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Optimize cost savings while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Establish long-term supplier partnerships for sustainable procurement.
- Market & Industry Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify sourcing trends, new materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor commodity price fluctuations and assess their impact on procurement.
- Order & Inventory Management:
- Coordinate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Support resolving any supply chain disruptions or quality issues.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assess supplier risks, including ethical sourcing, sustainability, and financial stability.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work with internal teams such as production, quality control, and finance to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Assist in new product development by sourcing innovative materials and suppliers.
- Time Zone Coordination & Urgent Response Handling:
- Manage communication across different time zones to ensure suppliers respond promptly, especially for urgent projects.
- Proactively follow up to avoid delays in procurement and production.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
- Experience: 1 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in supplier evaluation and contract management.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics.
- Familiar with Microsoft office, excel, teams, outlook
- Experience in manufacturing, inflight industries.
- Familiarity with sustainable sourcing and ethical procurement practices.
- Fluency in multiple languages (especially if sourcing from global suppliers).
