Scope of Services
Our Client, Office of Information Technology (OIT), is in search of a Cloud and Systems Architect to play a key role in assisting the OIT in the oversight, management, and execution of cloud services and platforms to support Client s infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs
General responsibilities may include the following:
1. Design, upgrade, administer, test, and modify the virtual desktop infrastructure environment
2. Assist in ongoing modernization and migration efforts for applications, data, and infrastructure
3. Oversight and management of Microsoft 365 environments
4. Oversight and management of other Microsoft platforms and/or environments
5. Oversight and management of identity platforms
6. Oversight and management of a multi-cloud environment
7. Architect, design, facilitate, lead, coordinate, and direct technology initiatives on multiple fronts across a variety of disparate areas within the organization. This could include Infrastructure administration, application development, data management & analytics, cybersecurity, external hosting, identity and access management, infrastructure, network, security hardening, privacy, and compliance.
Education
Bachelor s degree in computer science or another related field
4 years of experience can substitute for education
Mandatory Experience 11-12 years of professional experience in Information Systems or another related field. 3 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture. 3 years of strong professional experience as a Microsoft Azure cloud systems architect.
Desired Experience
5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services.
2 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
2 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software.
Primary Job Duties/ Tasks
The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
2. Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
3. Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud services.
4. Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Power Platform.
5. Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
6. Enhance Client s infrastructure, application, and system monitoring solutions to prioritize system uptime.
7. Review, advise, and design based on risks, costs, benefits, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
8. Automate processes wherever possible.
9. Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
10. Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
11. Troubleshoot issues brought forth by developers and other architects.
12. Present to your peers on findings of new technologies, enterprise-wide issues, and enhancements you have made to better the Client mission.
