What You'll Do:
As Assistant Principal, you'll be at the heart of our school's success, providing instructional leadership, data-driven insights, and program development expertise. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Data Analysis & Strategic Planning: Dive into longitudinal student data to identify trends, pinpoint areas for growth, and help shape our school-wide strategies.
- Master Scheduling Magic: Design and implement a master schedule that optimizes student learning and supports our diverse programs (ESE, ESOL, and more).
- Program Excellence: Ensure the effective implementation of ESE, ESOL, and state-mandated programs, and verify that teachers are working within their certification areas.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the behind-the-scenes details that keep our school running smoothly, including FTE reporting, gradebook compliance, and student records.
- Team Leadership & Support: Oversee the Guidance Department, Credit Recovery Tracking, and provide teachers with the coaching and resources they need to excel.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze student achievement data and share insights with teachers and parents.
- Collaborate with the Principal on curriculum development and course selection.
- Work closely with teachers to identify struggling students and implement effective interventions.
- Observe and evaluate classroom instruction, providing constructive feedback and professional development.
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative school climate that fosters engagement and participation.
- Champion the use of innovative technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Address the diverse needs of our students (intellectual, physical, social, and emotional) by collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Provide ongoing, job-embedded professional development that aligns with district, state, and federal standards.
- Contribute to school-wide improvement initiatives and participate in professional learning communities.
- Manage requests for instructional materials and equipment within the school budget.
- Attend professional conferences and workshops to stay at the forefront of educational best practices.
- And, of course, tackle other duties as needed to support our school's mission and goals!
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited university.
- Teacher certification from the State Department of Education.
- Prior administrative experience is preferred, but a strong passion for school leadership is also welcome!
