We recognize the importance of addressing our students' social and emotional needs alongside academic and skills growth.
We are seeking a Grade 5-12 Technology Teacher to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, in accordance with Massachusetts Frameworks.

We are seeking a Grade 5-12 Technology Teacher to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, in accordance with Massachusetts Frameworks.
Job expectations:
- Assists in the development of appropriate Computer Science Technology Curriculum for students in grades 5-12
- Teaches knowledge and understanding of Computer Technology careers
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in the CSA activities, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the Computer Science Technology field by attending seminars, participating in professional organizations, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research
- Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
- Ensures that student conform to the school’s standards and school district policies and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Meets with other professional staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees
- As part of the Arts, Wellness, and Technology (AWT) department, meets regularly to support other members in the creation of elective curriculum and plan events to showcase student work
- Assists in the development of strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the curriculum as well as provide information on current best practices, innovations, and emerging trends
- Able to develop innovative curriculum for elective classes in grades 5-12 which support GLCPS goals of preparing students for the ever-changing requirements of 21st century education and workplace
- Performs other related tasks as needed or assigned by direct supervisor or administrator designated by the principal
- Instructional Technology, Technology Specialist, or DLCS certification preferred, but not required
- Training in Code.org curriculum preferred, but not required
