Global Music rights is the first entrant into the U.S. performance rights marketplace in nearly 75 years. The company was founded in 2013 by industry veteran Irving Azoff, and Randy Grimmett, as an alternative to the traditional performance rights model. Global Music Rights serves an invitation-only client base, creating customized solutions in a rapidly evolving music rights marketplace and offering personalized service for music creators and music licensees. The company offers clients exceptional analytics and robust data solutions to ensure comprehensive royalty tracking and collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full cycle of Accounts Receivable management, including invoicing, receipt processing, collections, and monitoring AR aging.
  • Lead and manage a team of four employees responsible for AR and collections.
  • Track and forecast revenue and cash flow, managing a rapidly increasing volume of customers and invoices.
  • Manage lockbox operations and banking relationships.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless alignment and integration of multiple systems, including NetSuite and SalesForce.
  • Coordinate with the Revenue Operations Team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Calculate, analyze, and report quarterly commissions earned by sales representatives.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting of revenue and cash flow.
  • Analyze contracts to determine revenue recognition,
  • Utilize NetSuite's advance revenue module to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to establish methodology and maintain support for allowance for doubtful accounts accrual.
  • Prepare and review Accounts Receivable and Revenue-related audit requests.
  • Proactively identify and implement best practices for Accounts Receivable processes on an ongoing basis.

  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills, including proficiency in Excel, attending information meetings regarding the business, asking questions, seeking opportunities to learn and develop and master relevant business systems including NetSuite, SalesForce, Celigo connector.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to a growing AR team.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment with flexibility and a collaborative spirit where your duties may change and/or increase with short notice due to the needs of the organization and the goals of the department.
  • Communicate clearly and timely on progress, challenges, and deadlines, asking questions when you need clarity.  Ensure deadlines are understood and managed to and provide feedback if unattainable or cannot be met due to new circumstances.
  • Demonstrate accountability and follow-through in completing tasks and resolving obstacles, approaching each job responsibility or task assigned with diligence and ownership for its completion and success.  If you encounter obstacles that you cannot resolve, seek assistance from your supervisor in time to still meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Provide professional customer service, researching and addressing inquiries and concerns regarding invoices and outstanding balances.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with managing and scaling large volume invoicing functions.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, (saved searches, advanced revenue recognition and Dunning letter experience, is a plus.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (vLookups, Pivot tables, etc.).
  
Details:  
  • The compensation range for this role is: $115K - $125K annually depending upon experience.
  • Our offices are located in Westwood Village, Los Angeles, CA. Employees work in the office Monday through Thursday and from home on Fridays. We offer a very competitive benefits package, annual bonus, and a creative and dynamic working environment in the music industry.
  • We are a fully vaccinated workforce. Successful candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against COVID-19.
