In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient towing of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Your expertise in heavy-duty towing will be essential in providing excellent service to our customers, ensuring their vehicles are transported safely and securely.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy-duty wrecker trucks for the towing and recovery of large vehicles and equipment.
- Assess towing needs and determine the appropriate techniques and equipment required for safe towing.
- Secure and load vehicles safely using winches, chains, and other securing devices.
- Communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent customer service throughout the towing process.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues to management.
- Document all towing requests, services provided, mileage, and any additional relevant information.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during operations.
- Assist with roadside assistance and basic repairs as needed.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a heavy-duty wrecker operator or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty towing operations and techniques.
- Excellent driving skills, with the ability to navigate various terrains and weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
- Basic mechanical skills and understanding of vehicle systems is a plus.
