Job Responsibilities: Medical Assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties.
Administrative Duties:
- Scheduling new patient appointments
- Updating and scanning patient medical records
- Coding and filling out order forms for PT, MRI's Lab Work, etc.
- Process referrals & authorizations
- Successfully navigating clinical software
- Answering and returning patient phone calls & voice messages
- Greeting patients
- Preparing consent form for procedures
- Covering the front reception desk
- Collecting patient co-payments
- Maintaining fax inbox to patient charts and to staff members
- Prepare prior authorizations forms for patient prescriptions
- Confirm procedure appointments on the day prior
Clinical Duties:
- Patient Intake and Vitals
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Collecting and preparing laboratory procedures
- Assisting the physician during procedures
- Maintain and restock patient rooms
- Maintain and restock all inventory of medical supplies
