Job Summary
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventative, and predictive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilities equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance
- Perform maintenance/repair, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and troubleshooting of production machines
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and machine schematics
- Document all work through equipment repair log
- Diagnose/troubleshoot problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
- Perform some plumbing and fabrication functions
- Utilize hand tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Perform tooling changeovers within specified time limits
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to plant manager
- Assist in maintaining/ordering supplies and repair parts
- Maintain 5S principles and keep maintenance area organized including keeping track of tools
- Be available to all shifts for troubleshooting and repair
- Comply with safety rules and maintain clean and orderly work areas
Other Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining 5s practices
- Support continuous improvement activities
- Perform advanced problem solving when required
- Ability to work to professional standards as required to maintain standard conditions
- Assist in adhering to Environmental responsibilities according to local, state and federal legal requirements
- Any other task pertaining to the job as may be assigned by Management
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance role
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical/College/Apprenticeship preferred
- Ability to lift 50 Pounds
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to use the Microsoft Outlook
- Self-starter who takes initiative to do things not asked or directed to do
- Ability to work little supervision and complete task or projects on time
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Compensation is based off knowledge and past experience.
