(NYSE : GPN), a leading worldwide provider of payment technology services that delivers innovative solutions driven by customer needs, seeks a technology attorney to join its legal team in Atlanta, Georgia. This attorney will be primarily responsible for advising internal business clients on legal and regulatory issues related to technology, professional services, and outsourcing vendor agreements that support the Company’s corporate infrastructure, as well as its products and services, and for the negotiation of such agreements. The position is part of a collegial team of attorneys, reports to the Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel, and provides regular interaction with C-Suite executives and Global Payments Legal leadership.Position DescriptionDay-to-day advising of business partners working on new and existing technology infrastructure, including compliance advising in relation to the same.Structuring, drafting, and negotiating technology contracts with vendors and strategic partners (e.g., software licenses, hardware purchases, professional services agreements, consulting agreements, reseller agreements, and outsourcing agreements).Day-to-day advising and support for the Company’s merchant acquiring division, including technology infrastructure and products.Handling other general corporate work as necessary.Minimum Requirements3 years relevant experience in legal practice at a high-quality law firm, in-house legal position or both; member in good standing of at least one state bar; law degree from a top-tier law school.Required SkillsExperience with complex transactions (e.g. technology transactions, professional services, financial services, etc.)Experience advising corporate clientsFlexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal mattersExcellent oral and written communication skillsDesired SkillsKnowledge of laws and regulations generally applicable to payment or financial services providersKnowledge of privacy and / or data protection regulationsExperience in the payments industry or financial services industryExperience drafting and negotiating customer agreements for large financial institutionsExperience with information security standards and data privacy regulationsExperience with intellectual property counseling, including trademark portfolio managementGlobal Payments Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
