Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and application of the principles and methodology of effective teaching of students with disabilities
- Manage classroom organization to facilitate a constructive learning environment
- Prepare student individual education plans in consultation with parents and IEP team members
- Deliver instruction designed to meet the goals and objectives of IEPs and treatment plans
- Develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Assist other professional staff in the diagnosis of learning disorders, development of planned remediation, and evaluation of student progress
- Evaluate academic proficiency and determine appropriate academic curriculum for students based on assessment data, age, strengths, and special needs
- Follow State-mandated due process procedures and functions as IEP Manager to assigned students.
- Participates in eligibility committee meetings and contributes to developing the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community for all students.
