Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in group instruction prescribed by the teacher, provide individual instruction, and demonstrate various instructional activities
- Correct students' work while in progress, keep students on task and report student progress to the teacher
- Prepare visual aids and duplicate materials, organize materials at the end of each day, distribute and collect instructional materials
- Serve as a proctor during testing, assist in grading student’s papers as instructed by the teacher
- File data according to regulatory requirements
- Supervise students in the classroom and other locations
- Ensure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations related to services
- Submit reports as required
- Maintain neat, accurate, current, and complete records and reports in a standardized company format
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Illinois Paraprofessional Certification
- Experience working with children with special needs (preferred)
- Experience working in a classroom setting (preferred)
