What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical System Design Engineer - Dust Collection position at Global Recruiters of Moon Valley (GRN)?
The Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for Designing and Estimating cost for Dust Collectors and Dust Collection Systems. The System Engineer will also assist and give direction to the Production Engineering group when required. This position also requires the Systems Engineer to provide Sales support when required. This will include traveling to customer locations to either provide Engineering Services such as trouble shooting and resolving customer issues as well as developing design and put together quote estimates. This typically involves finding new vendors and helping to develop new vendors. The Systems Engineer will obtain quotes from vendors to complete quotations and R&D projects. The Systems Engineer will keep up with competitor product and work on R&D projects to keep us competitive with the industry. The Systems Engineer will also mentor and assist in educating personnel in the Engineering Department as well as others, when required.
Provide Sales support for Sales personnel as well as customers.
Designs dust collection systems using the Industrial Ventilation Handbook.
Plans mechanical drawings by reviewing sketches, descriptions, specifications, and supporting documents, conferring with engineers and designers.
Prepares mechanical sketches and drawings by rendering sectional, auxiliary, and multi-views, sub-assemblies, pictorials, dimensions, and developments; producing two- and three-dimensional orthographic projections using computer aided design (CAD) and pictorial techniques; producing three-dimensional (3-D) models.
Reviews RFQ specifications, drawings, floor plans to determine scope of work and required contents of the quote.
Visits project sites to understand the environment, constraints, and take necessary measurements.
Develops and receives quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
Creates the quote by preparing Bill of Materials and labor cost estimates.
Provides detailed, accurate & complete quotations to customers.
Prepares supporting information by developing bills of materials, quotes, and drawings.
Modifies drawings by analyzing, resolving, and incorporating changes.
Documents work by recording data and drawings, updating databases.
Act as a liaison to the Sales Department and the Manufacturing Department.
The ability to lead a team of designers and oversee designs for dust collection.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education : B.S.M.E. REQUIRED
Licenses and Certifications : Industrial Ventilation Certification is REQUIRED
Experience : 5-10 years of designing Industrial Ventilation systems for Dust collection is REQUIRED.
Skills :
5 years of Mechanical Engineering design of dust collection systems experience required
5 years of ERP and bills of materials work required
1440 hours of AutoCAD and SolidWorks each preferred
Other Requirements :
- Must maintain excellent attendance record.
- Must pass drug test and physical.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel anywhere.
