The Opportunity:
We're seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to join our client's leadership team in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role offers a highly attractive 4-day work week schedule, allowing for optimal work-life balance while leading critical engineering initiatives in defense manufacturing. The candidate needs to be very hands on, spending a significant amount of time on the floor of the plant.
Impact You'll Make:
• Lead and optimize manufacturing processes for military-grade products
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines
• Manage cross-functional engineering projects from conception to completion
• Develop and mentor a team of engineering professionals
• Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining highest quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
• Production & Process Management
- Oversee production flow optimization
- Maintain and improve plant equipment efficiency
- Implement cost-saving measures across programs
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Project & Budget Leadership
- Lead engineering projects from proposal to execution
- Manage budgets and schedules effectively
- Foster an "On-Time, Under-Budget" culture
- Conduct cost estimating and payback analysis
• Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor engineering team members
- Make key personnel decisions
- Provide performance evaluations
- Create development opportunities for team growth
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing)
• 12 years of manufacturing experience
• Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing methods
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance
• Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Production or Business Management (MBA)
• Experience in defense or munitions manufacturing
• Background in DOE, ISO, and risk management
Compensation & Benefits:
• Competitive salary range: $118,000 - $177,000
