Sales Manager Nebraska & Iowa Territory

Overview

Our client is seeking a Sales Manager to oversee and grow sales in the Nebraska and Iowa regions, with additional geographic responsibilities depending on location. This home-based role offers the opportunity to work with a forward-thinking organization in the animal feed and livestock nutrition space, focusing on building meaningful relationships, solving customer challenges, and becoming a trusted advisor to producers and nutritionists in the industry.

What Youll Do

This role is designed for an accomplished sales professional who is ready to make a direct impact. Over the first year, you will focus on achieving these high-level objectives :

  • Drive Sales Growth : Develop, execute, and own a detailed sales strategy that meets or exceeds revenue and volume targets for the region.
  • Build Customer Relationships : Establish lasting partnerships with key decision-makers, including nutritionists, distributors, and producers, earning their trust as a valued resource in the livestock feed industry.
  • Problem Solving for Customers : Use your technical expertise and the companys product portfolio to identify challenges and deliver innovative solutions that address customer needs.
  • Market Insight : Proactively monitor and share competitive market intelligence to help shape broader sales strategies and drive business improvements.
  • Represent the Brand : Attend regional nutrition conferences and industry events to consistently position the company as a leader and innovator in livestock nutrition.
  • Collaborate Internally : Work closely with internal teams, including technical experts and management, to ensure customer satisfaction and optimize product delivery.

  • Ruminant Nutrition Expertise : You have a deep understanding of the beef feedlot sector, from mineral nutrition to operational efficiencies, and can confidently navigate technical conversations.
  • Market Awareness : You know the competitive landscape and successfully strategize and execute plans to outperform competitors.
  • Self-Motivation and Execution : Whether working remotely or while traveling, you set clear goals, manage time effectively, and deliver exceptional results.

  • Industry Expertise : A bachelors degree in Animal Science , Agriculture, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in feed additive sales or animal nutrition, preferably with beef feedlots.
  • Relationship-Oriented : Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to develop rapport and trust with customers.
  • Solution-Driven : The ability to problem-solve and present technical solutions in a way that resonates with customers and drives their success.
  • Tech-Enabled : Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, with the ability to leverage these tools to enhance productivity.
  • Business Acumen : A strong understanding of the business and financial landscape of ruminant nutrition and feed industries.
  • Resilient and Independent : You thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, managing multiple tasks with discipline and prioritization.
