What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nanny/House Manager position at Global Relief and Support Corporation?
Job Description
Are you someone who enjoys keeping things clean and cozy, thrives on a structured routine, and loves working with kids—especially those with a little extra sparkle? We’re looking for a warm, responsible, and organized Nanny & House Manager to join our family!
You’ll help manage household operations and provide companionship to a fun, high-functioning 8-year-old boy on the Autism Spectrum. He loves swimming, animals, and adventures — and yes, there’s a sweet Golden Retriever in the house who’ll be part of your daily rhythm too!
Household Management Highlights:
- Light cleaning: keeping the home tidy, especially common areas and the hallway.
- Laundry: washing, folding, and putting away laundry.
- Kitchen duties: dishwashing, wiping down surfaces, and keeping it kid-ready.
- Organizing the child’s lunchbox for the next day and checking his school bag for notes and leftovers.
- Running light errands and maintaining household essentials.
- Feeding the family’s loving Golden Retriever daily at 4 PM and keeping her hallway clean.
Simple Meal Prep:
Prepare easy, kid-friendly meals (think: nuggets, noodles, fries) — just the basics to keep our little guy happy and well-fed!
Childcare & Companionship (Outside of ABA Therapy):
- Provide gentle, structured companionship during playtime or wind-down activities.
- Support routines like transitioning to bedtime and snack time.
- Join in on fun outings when needed, such as:
- Swimming lessons
- Zoo trips
- Playgrounds
- Visits to family
- Ensure the child’s safety, comfort, and emotional well-being during all transitions and travel.
Note: The child receives ABA therapy daily from 3–7 PM Monday to Friday, so your care will mostly be during breaks or as additional support before or after sessions.✅ What We’re Looking For:
- Kind-hearted, dependable, and organized.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform routine physical tasks (bending, reaching, etc.).
- Valid NYS Driver’s License & reliable transportation.
- Experience working with or around children with special needs is strongly preferred.
- Clear communication and a calm, patient presence are a must.
- Pet-friendly and kid-first mindset.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Prior household management experience.
- Familiarity with autism or neurodiverse child care routines.
- Strong multitasking skills and a proactive approach.
- Comfort and joy in working with animals (our Golden Retriever will love you!).
Why This Role is Special:
- You’ll help create a nurturing, safe, and happy environment for a family that deeply values support.
- You’ll get to bond with an amazing child and a loyal pup while keeping a household running smoothly.
- It’s a fulfilling part-time role that offers flexibility and meaningful impact.
