Principal Process Engineer
Job Summary
The Principal Process Engineer will provide technical leadership in process engineering, supporting both day-to-day manufacturing operations and capital projects. This role is responsible for identifying, documenting, and implementing best-in-class manufacturing technologies while ensuring compliance with machinery and processing specifications. The ideal candidate will be highly self-sufficient, demonstrating strong leadership, decision-making skills, and a proactive approach to optimizing process performance.
Technical Expertise & Process Optimization
- Serve as a subject matter expert in processing technologies, providing guidance to project management, automation, and performance optimization teams.
- Define and develop specifications for dairy and non-dairy processing equipment.
- Continuously assess and implement improvements in processing efficiency, quality, and reliability.
Project Support & Execution
- Participate in all project phases, from initial concept development through installation, commissioning, and startup.
- Assist in the selection, specification, and procurement of processing equipment to meet project goals within time and budget constraints.
- Update and modify engineering drawings, including P&IDs and process flow diagrams.
- Provide technical expertise to project managers and plant operations for processing-related capital projects.
- Serve as Project Manager on assigned initiatives, overseeing execution from planning to completion.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Sales & Marketing teams to develop processing solutions that meet customer and consumer needs.
- Partner with operations, marketing, quality assurance, sales, and equipment suppliers to optimize processing capabilities.
- Support corporate innovation efforts by evaluating new technologies and recommending improvements to existing processes.
Salary : $145,000 - $190,000
