What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspection and Quality Assurance Lead position at GLOBAL/SFC Valve Corporation?
Global/SFC Valve is proud to be the industry leader in the manufacturing, assembly, testing and inventory of US Navy standard valves and components. Global/SFC Valve provides the highest quality underway replenishment (UNREP) systems to allow refueling at sea and the replenishment of ammunition, provisions, and spare parts for the underway ships. OVERALL PURPOSE
This position is responsible to ensure a quality product for customers by verifying product being received, product in-process for assembly and product ready for shipment.
- Issue material for production including material for stems and other machined components.
- Execute final inspection of products and inventory finished parts for assembly.
- Complete and document forging receipt inspections for markings, workmanship and traceability.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing Manager to create PO’s for outside gauge processing and/or calibration.
- Perform and document receipt inspection on in-coming components and assemblies for conformance to purchase documents and drawings.
- Perform final inspection of components and assemblies prior to customer inspection and/or final shipment.
- Assist in issuing raw material to shop floor personnel.
- Prepare paperwork to include inspection reports, problem papers and other documentation related to inspections.
- Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, depth micrometers, thread gauges, comparators, CMM, etc.
- Accurately complete inspection status tags with pertinent information.
- Complete quality inspection reports and DMR’s for rejected material.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years’ experience with dimensional and geometric tolerancing; ability to perform piece part inspections using intricate and advanced measuring equipment to compare readings to engineering drawings.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
- Use of calibration tools
- Use various office equipment, i.e., copier, fax, shredder, printer, etc.
- Hand tools (hammer, measuring devices, wrench, level, etc.)
