Clinical Pathologist Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Surgical Pathology Expertise: Perform routine functions in surgical pathology, including complex specimen examinations and quality assurance.
• Team Collaboration: Assist the department manager in daily operations, ensuring efficient and accurate service delivery.
• Training and Development: Provide technical guidance and training to staff members, including new hires.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with safety, quality control, and regulatory standards.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and address issues affecting test performance or reporting.
• Workflow Management: Coordinate and monitor workflow to optimize efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current state licensure as a pathologist assistant.
• Strong knowledge of non-pathologist performing gross tissue examinations SOP and 1988 CLIA CFR 493, 1489.
• Preferred: Master's degree, 1 year of surgical gross experience, NAACLS-approved pathologist assistant training program, and ASCP PA certification.

Additional Information:

• Shift starts at 4:30 PM.
• Must be able to provide a copy of ASCP PA certification.
